Silver Star enters the gas market at a time when gas supplies are expected to remain tight through at least 2008, when the first wave of new LNG imports are expected to arrive on US shores. In fact, some experts predict that gas will outpace oil over the next decades as a preferred fuel, which is good news for gas producers such as Silver Star.
The Company has recently completed a 40% Working Interest buy-in on the “North Franklin” properties in Northern California. Feeder line construction has begun to tie in the successful Archer-Whitney 1 well on this property to a nearby pipeline. The Company expects to begin sales of gas under an existing contract by the end of October, at which point Silver Star will be in a cash-flow positive situation.
Company management is focused on an acquisition program targeting high quality, low risk prospects provided via key strategic alliance partnerships. The North Franklin properties are the first example of the successful implementation of this strategy, and reflect management’s commitment to develop an interlocking series of strategic oil and gas plays into a long-term contiguous exploration and development campaign.
Capital budget forecasts for the next 18 months amount to $6 million. The Company anticipates a significant portion of which would be raised via lending institutions to avoid stock
dilution.
